Book Club at the Beach in July!

Please join us on July 19, 2015 from 1:30-4 (book discussion beginning at 2) when we will be discussing Ivan Doig’s Whistling Season at the home of Veronica Paracchini ’67 in Cape Meares, OR. We have had wonderful meetings at the Coast for the last two years, and we are looking forward to another beautiful weekend!

Below are a few details:

• Please notify Debbie Olsen at dolsen@linfield.edu if you plan to attend (even if you’re rather tentative). This will put you on the list to receive more detailed information as we get closer to the date.
• The book club discussion will take place at 2 PM but, as usual, participants are welcome at 1:30 PM for conversation. Lee Catalano has extra library copies of our selection, Ivan Doig’s Whistling Season. Contact Lee at lee.catalano@gmail.com if you’d like to borrow a copy.
• There will be a potluck the night before (Saturday, July 18) starting at 5 PM at a nearby house rented by Debbie, Caroline, and Margaret. Spouses, partners, kids, or other traveling companions are welcome.
• If you are interested in camping at or near Veronica’s home, please contact her at veropar45@gmail.com. Veronica and Bob have invited all campers for breakfast at their home on Sunday morning.
• If you plan to overnight Saturday or Sunday, there are places available to rent in Cape Meares and nearby towns. Champagne and Strawberries!

In honor of one of Mount Holyoke’s most beloved spring traditions, the Portland club will celebrate spring at Ambonnay Bar on Sunday, May 31st from 3-5pm. Ambonnay specializes in champagne and sparkling wine. There will, of course, be strawberries too. Details to follow in an Evite.
