We are thrilled to announce that we are hosting our first campus speaker event since our Club’s revitalization! We will host Sonya Stephens (click on link for her bio!) on November 2, 2014 from 11 AM – 1:00 PM. Thank you to Molly Cochran ’00 for helping to arrange our venue, the Oregon Historical Society (1200 SW Park Avenue, Portland).
Sonya will discuss “The Liberal Arts: Preparing Mount Holyoke Women for the World”: A liberal arts education is the very best preparation for post-graduation success in today’s rapidly changing global world. It engages students in rigorous inquiries, requires frequent written and oral communication and develops flexibility of mind, intercultural competence, and evidence-based analytic capacity. Mount Holyoke is leading the way to prepare graduates to make a difference in the world through its new LYNK initiative, innovation hires, and master campus planning process.
We look enthusiastically to our members to make sure this is a very successful event. If you are willing to bring (or help organize) refreshments please email email@example.com. We will also extend invitations to our fellow Alumnae in Seattle, so please let us know if you would be willing to host any visiting alums.
